History:

Biosystems Engineering Department at our university will start teaching with 30 students from the 2021-2022 Academic Year. The language of instruction of the Department of Biosystems Engineering is Turkish.

Purpose:

Biosystems Engineering is considered as one of the professions of the future, combining agriculture and technology. Biosystem Engineering basically aims to meet the need for engineers to ensure "sustainable food safety" in the fields of irrigation, agricultural structures, agricultural energy systems and agricultural machinery.

Undergraduate Program:

Biosystems Engineering Undergraduate Program is 4 academic years (8 terms/semesters). The first two years of the undergraduate program are mainly based on basic engineering courses. The next two academic years are mostly agriculture courses. In line with the courses, students can carry out studies in the field of agriculture by increasing their interest in different fields.

Job Opportunities and Working Areas of Graduates

The work areas of Biosystems Engineers are quite wide and diverse. Programming in the field of agriculture, planning, rearranging the planning of rural wise, agricultural water management, greenhouse design, animal shelters, etc. Below are some areas where a graduating Biosystems Engineer can work.

There are opportunities for appointment in the positions opened in the Ministries of Agriculture and Forestry.
The opportunity to work as an engineer has increased in the positions opened in the State Hydraulic Works. Because the heads of irrigation unions fall within the expertise of Agricultural Structures and Irrigation / Biosystem Engineers.
They can work as engineers in Agricultural Credit Cooperatives.
They can work in the design of irrigation projects in Private Irrigation Companies.
They can work as project engineers in Land Consolidation Companies.
There are opportunities to work as a greenhouse project engineer in Greenhouse Companies.
It is used in the Project and Development of Agricultural Machinery, Rural Development Projects, Irrigation Unions, Projecting of Agricultural Energy Systems and Agricultural Research Institutes, etc. find employment opportunities in public and private institutions.
