The Biosystems Engineering Undergraduate Program was developed and started to provide education mainly in the USA. In addition, the education system is more prominent in countries similar to the USA, such as Canada and Australia, outside the USA. The transition to the Biosystems Engineering program is more recent in Europe. Despite this, education is given under the name of Biosystems and similar engineering in Universities of Ireland (Dublin), Belgium (Leuven), Spain (Barcelona-Catalonia) and Slovenia (Maribor). In our country, in parallel with the developments in the world, first the "Agricultural Mechanization Board", in 2007, in the 2nd Training Workshop in Bursa, agriculture and similar engineering trainings were given under different names in the USA and EU countries, the most appropriate one was "Biosystem Engineering", the subjects were It has decided that it includes the subjects of Agricultural Machinery, Agricultural Structures and Irrigation Departments and therefore a "Biosystem Engineering" program should be opened in which both departments will be included and can be internationally accredited. Later, in the meeting held in Ankara in 2007, the Heads of Agricultural Structures and Irrigation Departments decided that the Department of Agricultural Structures and Irrigation could open a "Biosystem Engineering" Undergraduate Program with the Department of Agricultural Machinery within the scope of the restructuring of the Faculties of Agriculture in our country. After these historical decisions, the related departments of Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam, Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa Universities, especially Uludağ University, established the "Department of Biosystems Engineering" in 2009 and started to accept students in the 2009-2010 academic year. Later, Namık Kemal (Tekirdağ), Yüzüncü Yıl (Van), Bozok (Yozgat), Mustafa Kemal (Hatay), Erciyes (Kayseri), Bingöl (Bingöl), Adıyaman (Adıyaman), Niğde (Niğde) and International Cyprus (Nicosia) -TRNC) Universities opened the same department.
